Jelica Shaw
Aboriginal Youth Centre Coordinator

jelica

After completing a Bachelors of Arts degree with a major in History and an undeclared minor in Psychology at Simon Fraser University she went onto to pursue her academic dream of combing art, history and psychology at the Vancouver Art Therapy institute of Vancouver.

She received a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Art Therapy once completing her thesis titled: Art Therapy: An Intervention for At-Risk Aboriginal Youth.

Upon graduation she was hired at an East Vancouver community center as a Youth Worker where she helped coordinate and facilitate the NASCARZ program (never again steal cars).

Her commitment to youth and Aboriginal issues has brought her to work at Richmond Youth Service Agency as an Aboriginal Coordinator for Pathways Aboriginal Centre and for the Oskayak Youth Center.

In her spare times she loves being at home or at her cabin in the Gold bridge Valley, creating with her young family.
