Kim grew up in Richmond and enjoys contributing to and working within this community – and specifically with youth. She joined RYSA in October 2010 to facilitate the RALLY program (Richmond Aboriginal Leadership and Life Skills for Youth) for Aboriginal Youth at Pathways Aboriginal Centre. Kim considers her experience with RALLY to be “highly valuable and wonderful” and says that she enjoyed applying her knowledge and expertise from her First Nations Studies major (Bachelor of Arts, UBC, 2010).
Kim has a variety of experiences in different settings working with youth, such as the Musqueam Reserve, on the playing field as a coach and in community centers including a centre on the Downtown Eastside where she ran summer camps. She is pleased to be a Child and Youth Activities worker at RYSA, running the Generations Homework Club, the U-Connect Crew and the Summer Day-Camp and has really enjoyed working with a wide variety of children and youth.
In her spare time Kim enjoys aspiring to be a bike commuter/environmental enthusiast, camping, snowboarding, playing field hockey, listening to music, doing yoga when possible, and spending time with friends and family.
